A Tale Too Close For Comfort

I began season 4 on HULU of the movie version of the apocalyptic novel by Margaret Atwood, Handmaiden Tale. It is fiction, but the way the earth is turning since the devised “election”, I wonder if it could happen in reality? Handmaiden Tale is the story of the aftermath of a huge nuclear event, and the cult that is left behind. Anchorage is the capital of the USA, nothing except the cult, and a few left from “before”, survivors wanting their world back…they are left behind. A superpower attacked, and left such toxicity, that infertility is the most harmful world-ending outcome. Unfortunately we had no tough leaders, our president was crazy, and of course ultimately murdered. (It didn’t matter what car they drove, or what sex they wanted to try out, infertility was the only true and total end-of-the-world outcome). The cult is masculine lead, wives are assumed to be infertile, and 1 of 5 births of the Handmaidens are lost somehow, to miscarriage, or born and then pass away within a week. The men who rule bring in young, possibly fertile girls born before the apocolypse, to bear them children. These are the Handmaidens. Dressed in red capes and , much like a burka, covered from toe to the winged hats they must wear, so no man except her Owner can see their faces. Mid-cycle there is a ceremony. Made to seem Godly. Religion is important to the cult. The H.Maiden is bathed, so she is clean, and sits on the floor on her knees. Then the wife enters, she is in charge. The husband knocks and she allows him to enter. After that the H.Maiden lies on her back between the wife’s legs, both are fully clothed. The H.Maiden spreads her legs as the wife holds her wrists tightly. The husband unzips his pants and enters the H. Maiden, and he supposedly must look into his wife’s eyes. When he is “finished” there is a clean cloth for him, it’s all very ceremonial. This is how the children of the couple come into the world, afterwards the H.M. goes back to her chores, the baby is looked after by tons of maids and men with AK’s. Perhaps you’ve seen the demokrat crazies in reality, dressed in red with white winged head wear, representing what they believe the world will become if abortion is left up to the voters of each state? I am confused by this. as 73 million babies are slaughtered in the womb each YEAR…….and the demokrats don’t seem happy with that, they consider abortion a “Constitutional Right” , as if while the great founders of our country considered that, along side Freedom of Speech. I find this story to be eerily prescient. Most babies murdered before their birthdays are babies of color, black, hispanic….and no one is taking away women’s “right” to kill them, because they aren’t smart enough to manage birth control, or even Morning After , for the slow thinkers, abortion is merely being moved from the Constitution, where, as Ruth Ginberg said, it never was in the first place, and, instead of making it illegal, as most murders are, they are setting it right, on behalf of the stupid among us, who are pregnant “by mistake”. Unless a child rape victim, a woman should know how babies are made. They could google it.
